USDA FAS Report on “Brazil Corn Production in 2012/13” and Expectations for 2013/14

The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) (http://www.fas.usda.gov/) has published a Commodity Intelligence Report article on Brazilian corn production in the 2012/13 marketing year, with a discussion of expectations for the 2013/14 marketing year.  The title of the article is “Brazil: Record Corn Production in 2012/13; Lower Expectations for Next Year.

The full article can be found at the following web address: http://www.pecad.fas.usda.gov/highlights/2013/05/br_15may2013/

This article provides a useful explanation of the seasonality of the multi-crop Brazilian corn growing season and how early and late harvested corn in Brazil tends to go toward domestic industries on the one hand and export markets on the other.  A very good and useful article by the folks at the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service.
